Your journey does not end until you take care of the gear. Once you get home, most of us have a lot to do to catch up on the everyday stuff, but your journey should not end once you get home. Part of the journey is to make sure you are ready for your next excursion.

When planning my trips, I always (yes, always) plan on time to take care of my equipment. If you take care of your gear, it will last forever (or at least a lot longer).
